2017 – Wellington “4on4” – Women



The new “4on4” format is replacing last year’s beginners league and is trialled as a social competition to draw new people into the sport

The Vikings Handball Club decided to enter two men teams (Vikings 1 and Vikings 2) and one women team (Vikings).

“4on4” League Information

League format

The league will run for three weeks with all teams playing four games, each team having one double header weekend (double header games are played back to back).
Both men’s and women’s leagues will be run as a round robin (no finals). In the women’s league all teams play each other. In the men’s league teams un group A play all other teams in their group, however teams in group B play all but one other team.
All teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 for a loss.

Court

The court will be the same length and width as a netball court, with the 6 meter boundary being marked with a straight line rather than a half circle.

Rules

Normal Indoor Handball rules apply. The one exception being each team will only be allowed to field three outfield players and one goalkeeper.
